Opening Ceremony, the king of collaboration projects, has just joined ranks with Q-Pot, a deliciously food themed jewelry label from Japan who have collaborated with the likes of Disney and Apple as well.  The OC line features waffle cones necklaces and build-your-own-hamburger charms.  The pieces are sold individually to mix and match as your own. There are many things the North Carolina Triad Area is known for many things, most of them academic or basketball related.  So one would expect that the clothing retail scene around here is, well, unsatisfying to say the least.  But last week  H&M opened a location in Raleigh’s Crabtree Valley Mall. I was elated to […]

2009’s Fashion’s Night Out wasn’t enough.  Tonight 75 of fashion’s most influential figures will meet to discuss reenforcing New York City as America’s garment capital. Attendees will include Lundgren, Diane von Furstenberg, Roger Farah of Polo Ralph Lauren, Burt Tansky of Neiman Marcus, Millard “Mickey” Drexler of J. Crew Group, Michael Gould of Bloomingdale’s, Hearst’s […]

Gareth Pugh always saves the best for last.  This season’s fashion shows were no different. He waited until the last week of shows in Milan to debut his latest collection.  And it’s quite priceless. There are many things I love about Gareth Pugh.  First of all, there’s is his all nonsense approach to fashion. Secondly, […]

Cynthia Rowley This show was soft but hard in all the right […]

As all great things must, September’s Fashion Week has come to a close. And all of us fashion goers have been left with an epic dilemma: What did we like? What didn’t work? Which pieces will we be saving up to buy next Spring? When will Kelly Rowland realize she’s not the next Heidi Klum?

All in all, the 2009 VMA’s were a crazy crazy shit show. Which is exactly what I’ve come to expect from MTV nowadays. It’s funny, the last time MTV showed Michael Jackson that much love, it held much greater t respect in the world of music.

The highlight of September is usually Spring Fashion Week but Anna Wintour’s plans for Fashion’s Night Out might outshine the runway shows this year. With major freebies, complementary champagne (a fashion week staple), and huge discounts, even recessionistas will once again be able to enjoy shopping.

Monday’s Rachel Zoe premiere speaks volumes for the fashion world and it’s anti-decadence movement. In a recession stylists are often forgotten. Kudos to Zoe for remaining relevant!
