She even managed to halt all but one designer’s runway show scheduled during FNO.  With major freebies, complementary champagne (a fashion week staple), and huge discounts, even recessionistas will once again be able to enjoy shopping.

I was planning to be in the city September 10th.  I even pondered selling my Chanel messenger to afford the trip.  Unfortunately, I will not be in attendance.  But if I was, these are the events I couldn’t miss:

9. Miss J’s Runway Lessons at H&M

  • The greatest divo on cable will be at the Soho H&M’s giving runway lessons.  Your best effort will be projected H&M billboard in the Meatpacking Disctrict.  Talk about instant exposure. 1328 Broadway.

8. Anna Wintour steps foot in Queens and a Macy’s

  • This is a once in a lifetime event.  Just imagine the conversation going on in Wintour’s private car on her way to Queens.  Priceless.

7. Chanel

  • I heart Alexa Chung and free manicures. Both will be at Chanel.  Alexa is DJ for the night while the store paints ever girl’s nails Jade, Chanel’s limited edition pistachio hued nail polish you might’ve spotted in the fall runway show. 139 Spring St., at Wooster St.

6. Opening Ceremony

  • In typical Chinatown fashion, OC will be offering up goods from the back of vintage cars.  Designers including Alexander Wang, Band of Outsiders, Rodarte and Proenza Schouler will carry one of a kind pieces.  Experience food from local restaurants as well as music from friends of OC.  35 Howard St., nr. Broadway

5. Free Blowouts and more at Arrojo Studio

  • Nick Arrojo’s studio, yes Nick Arrojo of TLC’s “What Not to Wear” is giving free blowouts, bang trims, and styling tips.  Get in line early.  What girl can pass up the opportunity to visit a premiere salong for a free hair service that usually costs as much as a decent pair of stilettos.  56 King Street.

4. Bumble and bumble.

  • Start your night out right with Champagne and runway ready hair.  Rising Bumble stylists will re-create any hairstyle from F/W 09 runways.  I’m sure any look from the Marc Jacob’s show will earn you first in line at future endeavors that night. 146 East 56th Street.

3. Barneys

  • You’ll probably have downed a few cocktails by the end of the night, so take that liquid courage and head on over to Barneys where you can mingle with guests including Isabel Toledo, Thom Browne, Narciso Rodriguez, and Alexander Wang.   Wool and the Gang will offer knitting lessons.  The Sue Devitt beauty counter is giving free Eye Intensifier Pencil to its first 50 visitors. 660 Madison Ave., at 61st St.

2. The Misshapes at Versace

  • The last official Misshapes may have been in 2007 but the gang is reuniting with a DJ set at Versace.  So grab your lens-less glasses, throw some glitter on your eyes and get there early.  Everyone in New York will want to dance the night away to the likes of Le Tigre, The Rolling Stones, and Ladytron.  Celebs including Ciara, Taylor Momsen, and Chanel Iman will also be in attendence.  This is, without a doubt, the hottest event of the night.  Good luck getting in.  647 Fifth Avenue.

1. Rag & Bone

  • If you can’t make it into Versace, try Rag & Bone’s makeshift Irish Pub.  With free beer, a sawdust floor, and a live band this will most likely be the hotspot for the straighter guys attending FNO.  If it were up to me, I’d end my night here. 100 Christopher Street.

You are now allowed to panic.  This is an overwhelming list, and it’s only my favorites. Click the links below to check out the full itinerary for the rest of the city wide spending spree.  With the likes of Whitney Port showing at S/S fashion week, FNO will be fashion’s flashiest night in recent memory.  So go out September 10th and spend an embarassingly massive amount of cash supporting the industry we love.
