Hermione goes to college.

Emma Watson as the new face of Burberry

Hermione has come a long way since the bold, headstrong, and unruly first year from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  In The Half Blood Prince she commands scenes with more of a womanly aura.  The same goes for the real life Hermione, Emma Watson.  Watson has blossomed into a gorgeous young woman and is being sought out by paparazzis more than ever before. Watson is using her new found popularity to expand her career.  She is the 2009 fall face of Burberry as well as the covergirl of Teen Vogue’s July issue.  Even though the actress may be attending Burberry photoshoots, wearing Chanel to premieres, and making friends with Karl Lagerfeld her everyday wardrobe remains typical teen.  In her interview with Teen Vogue Watson said,

“I live, really, in jeans from Topshop, blazers from Ralph Lauren or Reiss, and ballet flats.”

These wardrobe choices will fit in perfectly at Brown, her campus of choice for the fall.  It isn’t uncommon for working actresses to attend college.    Maybe it’s the reality that female actresses often don’t see themselves making films as long as male actors but actresses including Natalie Portman, Mary Kate and Ashley, Reese Witherspoon, Claire Danes, and Anna Paquin all acquired bachelors degrees while working.  Watson is hoping to do the same while remaining somewhat anonomyous as possible.  Her college plans even include a roommate.  “I want to do it properly, like everyone else. As long as I don’t walk in,” she adds jokingly, “and see, like, Harry Potter posters everywhere, I’ll be fine.”
