2009 winter challenge: no more UGGS

28Jul09
The middle of first semester brings cold weather.  Leaves fall, temperatures plummet and sundresses and sandals become jeans and cashmere sweaters. But the most challenging item of all to master in cold weather is shoes.  Every winter girls trade their cutest footwear for Uggs or sneakers.

This year I’ve challenged myself to remain stylish even when it isn’t easiest to do so. Just because the seasons change doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice style for practicality. That is why I have already begun my search for winter boots, flats to pair with tights, and even a tough dependable pair of shoes for serious days.

When winter comes and the walk from the dorm to class seems twice as long, I’ll just take a peek down at my gorgeous footwear and feel a tinge of warmth.
